SECTION 01
WHO THEY ARE
HUDSONAUTOMOTIVE GROUP
DANIEL ISLAND, SC · EST. 1948
In 1948, George Hudson opened one dealership in Providence, Kentucky. His grandchildren now run more than 60 of them.
Hudson Automotive Group spans seven states and 23 brands, employs close to 5,000 people, and still operates out of Daniel Island, South Carolina under third-generation family ownership. Its stores have won the Toyota President's Award, the Honda President's Award, the Nissan Global Award, and Ford's President's Award. Those get handed out for how a store treats customers, not how many cars it moves.

SECTION 02 · THE PROBLEM
THE PROBLEMS HUDSON WAS DEALING WITH
Hudson wasn't short on traffic. They were short on ways to use it.
No.01
Eight leads a month.
That was what the native website trade form was producing at one of Hudson's stores. Not eight a day — eight a month, off a website thousands of shoppers were already visiting.
8LEADS PER MONTH
No.02
The tools were built for a different decade.
The legacy trade tools were engineered ten to fifteen years ago, for a desktop. They still assumed a customer sitting at a desk with time to fill out a form. That customer stopped existing years ago.

No.03
Every lead was one and done.
Four out of five customers who raised their hand disappeared. Ninety days later, when they were finally ready to shop for real, the store paid to win that same lead all over again.
No.04
They'd already tried to fix it themselves.
"We're trying to go back to the drawing boards… we've been trying to get it off the ground for the last several months and it just seems like it's stalled."
Sold customers → Service customers → Old leads →no deal
SECTION 03 · THE DECISION
WHY MOTO BEAT
THE ALTERNATIVES
Hudson wasn't swapping one tool for another, they consolidated several, and paid less for the bundle than they'd been paying for the separate pieces.

CLOSING AT 10–12%
JOSH DETZEL · HUDSON AUTOMOTIVE GROUP
"Wyatt Johnson Toyota, they got like 160 [leads] last month and they're closing them at 10 to 12%… not only are we getting more, but they're closing at a higher percentage than what regular trade-in tools are closing at."
