Product Updates and Feature Friday

This hub collects short videos from Mike Crothers, CEO of MOTO(acquire), covering MOTO(acquire) product updates and our Feature Friday series. Each video is quick and to the point: what changed, why we built it, and how your store can put it to work. If you are a GM, used car manager, or dealer principal, this is the fastest way to stay current on the tools your team uses to buy cars from your own customers.

What MOTO(acquire) Product Updates and Feature Friday Cover

We ship improvements across the whole platform, and Feature Friday is where we walk through them one feature at a time. You will see updates on:

  • MOTO(convert): the website trade tool with instant valuations, firm offer requests, and monthly value tracking, including the free buying power tool.

  • MOTO(retain): sends past sales and service customers their vehicle's value every month.

  • MOTO(drive): service drive acquisition using DMS data and automated texts. It pushes VIN and miles to your inventory tools and alerts your sales team when a customer is ready.

  • MOTO(social): gives each person posting on social their own link, with leads attributed in the CRM.

  • MOTO(insite): a consumer site with free vehicle history information.

We also cover integrations. MOTO(acquire) integrates with all major DMS platforms and many others, including Tekion, Dealertrack, CDK, Reynolds, and Auto/Mate. If your store runs a DMS we do not integrate with yet, we will build the integration.

Why Product Updates Matter to Your Used Car Gross

Cars you buy from your own customers are usually the best gross on your lot. You skip the auction fees, the transport, and the bidding war. The problem is that most stores only acquire when a customer happens to walk in with a trade. The tools in this hub are built to change that, so you are sourcing from your website, your past customers, your service drive, and your team's social posts every day.

Every update we release is aimed at that same goal: more private party and customer cars coming into your store at a number that leaves room to make money. A small change, like a better alert for your sales team or a cleaner handoff of VIN and miles to your inventory tools, can be the difference between buying a car and watching it go somewhere else.

What to Measure

Updates only matter if they move your numbers. Here is what we suggest tracking as you roll out new features:

  • Website trade activity: instant valuations and firm offer requests coming through MOTO(convert), and how many turn into appraisals and purchases.

  • Value tracking engagement: MOTO(retain) value tracking emails have a 36% open rate and 99.5% deliverability. Watch how your opens and replies compare, and how many past customers come back in to sell or trade.

  • Service drive buys: MOTO(drive) stores consistently buy about 1% of their repair orders without dedicated service acquisition hires. Track your purchases against your repair order count.

  • Social attribution: leads tied to each team member's MOTO(social) link in your CRM.

  • Speed to response: how fast your team acts when a customer is flagged as ready.

How These Videos Help

Your people are busy. Nobody has time for a long training session every time we ship something new. These videos are short so your managers can watch them between deals, share them in a morning meeting, and get the team using a new feature the same day.

Mike explains each update in plain dealer language. You will hear what problem it solves, where to find it, and what result to look for. Hundreds of dealers use MOTO(acquire), and much of what we build comes straight from their feedback, so if you see something that sparks an idea for your store, tell us.
